Early last spring I flew out from the Bay Area to Indiana (who wouldn’t?) and took my time driving back. Each day I kept a li’l video journal. Part Four has everything you want: Wilco, Arches National Park, a church, Vegas and pictures of what I ate at a buffet. It’s the Great American Story.

Okay, this is a commission piece. The request was for “a pink painting. You know, hopeful and stuff.” So there it is.

I made this last summer with Seth and Joe while we were the entertainment at a summer camp. I’m not sure what was entertaining about me. Unless seeing me walk around the woods grumpy is entertaining.

Yeah, I’m a pretty huge deal now.

I would also like to point out they made me wear a pillow under my shirt.

That title doesn’t even make sense. It’s late.

Hot dog, kids. That was fun. A few of us packed the Toyota Echo up and headed south for Carnaval. And yeah, at one moment it was 10,000 Mexicans and two white guys with beards. But boy, did we make friends. I fully admit to getting groped. I love you, Ensenada.

What’s funny is that I know all these kids who go to that city for missions trips and I ended up there slurring out the only 5 Spanish words I know, trying to get the locals to give me five, trying to get potato shaped women to dance with me, and trying not to get shot by the completely scary Federales and their riot-gear-wearing, machine-gun-toting amigos.
